Look at jasper, from the Ubuntu ARM team

Description
As a recent mail on the Debian Live list is indicating:
“The Ubuntu ARM team wrote a system called jasper whose job is to help
with booting preinstalled ext2/ext3 ARM images:”
“Jasper is a tool to configure preinstalled ext2/3 images that were
created using the ubuntu infrastructure from the initramfs.
Such as armel omap3/4 images in Ubuntu 10.10 and beyond.”
The author of the mail proposed a patch to use this tool in Live Build tools, which may be of strong interest for our work.
It seems that we should look at what Ubuntu is doing on ARM to try to use their work when this makes sense. Sub-tickets may be required depending on the interest of their project for our one :).
Jasper is an Ubuntu window manager.
https://launchpad.net/jasper
*Jasper 3D Window Manager *
"_Remake of Beryl. Except that the plugins come from compiz, compiz-fusion, and from Beryl's old plugins as well. XGL and AIXGL both should work with this Window Manager but (just like compiz, and compiz-fusion) it is just for show_"
It seems Jasper is also a short name for jasper-initramfs:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/natty/jasper
They could have chosen a better name!
By the way, have you ever looked at the Ubuntu ARM project?
