Description

DoudouLinux CD use a i686 kernel
but old computer like AMD-K6-2 can't boot with this such of kernel and need a linux-image-x.x.xx-1-i386.
I know after a breef reading of your project that you plan to move to ARM, that nice but in many french school computers are very old (Pentium II or AMD K6-2)
I'am a IT technician my wife is a teacher and i plan to promote your project.

So could you make a i386 release for more compatibility ?

Quite annoying indeed… I propose you to make an i386 build and let you make tests. It's not really difficult to build, just a parameter to change in the liveCD configuration. However it'll be difficult to offer both i386 and i686 CD's in 25 languages! The best option may be to ship an i386 kernel in the future, but we have to compare performances on PIII processors and above. Could you make such evaluation?
