Description
We'd like to include in DDL an application to teach children basics of programming. There is a page in Wikipedia which list a large number of solutions:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_educational_programming_languages
Many of them are not relevant though. Our requirements are the following:
- a language simple enough to be use as early as possible
- use preferably a language similar to a widely used language
- do not require too many extra libs, particularly if it is programmed with an interpreted language, Python is preferred since it will be shipping with DDL for a while
- low disk/memory usage
Additionally we may evaluate maintainability and customizability of the application to make it nicer :).
A sub-ticket should be created for the evaluation of any candidate software.
