Description
The Debian derivative “Tails” is using the Lzma compression algorithm which achieves 10% of size reduction (590 MB instead of 690 MB):

Intrigeri, the project leader, says he has to use the Sid kernel, the backport version of mksquashfs-tools
and a standard 2.x live-build
package. This is running on top of Debian Squeeze. Commits concerning this feature are located in branch feature/lzma

We can try to port these changes to DDL.
