Description

Program that handles PDF document is missing probably (anyway I canot find it in a list of programs offered to open pdf with)

Please double-check since evince is actually in the list of apps to be installed. Maybe its icon has changed of place or is not correctly drawn?

You're right Evince is present but it isn't specified as a default app for pdf files

In this case, this may be a missing component in the system. I have similar troubles while double-clicking on text files in Debian/Squeeze/LXDE.
